New Chancellor for HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management
Prof. Dr. Tobias Dauth has been named the new Chancellor of HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management. He replaces Dr. Marcus Kölling, who has taken over the commercial management of the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) in Potsdam. In an extensive process, Tobias Dauth was able to convince HHL’s governing bodies of his merits and is now part of the HHL Executive, together with the Dean, Prof. Dr. Stephan Stubner.
Regarding his objectives, Chancellor Prof. Tobias Dauth comments,
“The education and training sector is changing in many ways: new, specialized courses of study are emerging at ever shorter intervals, and so-called microdegrees may replace traditional educational qualifications in the future. Additionally, we have been observing the changes in online teaching over the past few months. In short, educational institutions must adapt to a changing environment in order to prepare students for the ‘working world of tomorrow.’ As a comparatively small private university, HHL has the opportunity to implement these trends rather quickly. I will work towards this together with Prof. Dr. Stephan Stubner as well as all my colleagues at HHL.”
Prof. Dr. Dauth took office on January 1, 2022 and introduced himself recently internally in his new role. The Chancellor of HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management is elected by the Shareholder Meeting. Its Chairman Kristian Kirpal, who is also President of the Leipzig Chamber of Commerce and Industry, congratulates Professor Dauth on behalf of the Shareholder Meeting, wishing him strength, creativity and perseverance for his new task:
“We are delighted that Professor Dauth, a reputable expert in the field of international management, has assumed the position of Chancellor and Commercial Director at HHL. He has joined a wide range of networks in Leipzig and his work will contribute to HHL continuing to earn more renown and sustainably strengthening the Leipzig region as a business location.”

HHL Dean, Stephan Stubner, is looking forward to the new collaboration, stating, “With Tobias Dauth, the responsible bodies have chosen a personality who has already successfully bridged the gap between science and practice. Tobias Dauth’s experience in the field of university management will be of great benefit to HHL.”
